JBT listed in US Bankers Top 200 Community Banks and Thrifts
Lebanon, PA, June 18, 2009: Jonestown Bank & Trust Co. (JBT) claimed the 165th spot in the nation’s Top 200 Community Banks and Thrifts, as ranked by U.S. Banker magazine in its June 2009 edition. More than 1,100 community banks and thrifts were evaluated nationwide by three-year average return on equity (ROE), placing JBT in the top 15 percent—and the only community bank within Lebanon County to achieve the superior ranking. The rankings were based on an analysis of data compiled by SNL Financial LC.
Lynn Wenger, CEO of JBT stated, “We are honored to be recognized as one of the top 200 community banks. This recognition is shared by our entire team who take great pride in JBT and in serving our customers’ financial needs every day.” Wenger continued, “From our beginnings in 1873 to the present day, our goal has remained the same—to serve the needs of the people who share this community with us. At JBT, we pride ourselves in putting our customers first.”
Additionally, JBT was recently ranked among the Top 5 fastest growing businesses in Lebanon County during the period from 2006 to 2008, according to Central Penn Business Journal, a regional, business-focused weekly newspaper published by Journal Publications, based in Harrisburg, PA.
JBT operates eight locations throughout the Lebanon County and expects to add a ninth office in the Campbelltown area by year end. In December 2008, JBT reported having assets of $301,000,000.
